The St. Louis Community College Foundation has received a donation from Michael J. Hoffmann, DDS, to establish The Dental Anesthesia Center Endowed Scholarship Fund for students in the dental assisting program offered at St. Louis Community College’s Forest Park campus.
Dr. Hoffman’s donation of $20,000 will provide funds for the first scholarship, which will be awarded in fall 2018. The award is up to $1,000 per year.
Recipients of the scholarship must:
- Complete an online scholarship application).
- Submit an essay/biographical sketch of 300 words to include a description of why this scholarship is important; financial need information; current employment status; and description of past and present academic achievement.
- Be enrolled in STLCC’s dental assisting program.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 and be in good standing.
Dr. Hoffmann currently practices at The Dental Anesthesia Center in Clayton. He is a faculty member in the dental assisting program at STLCC-Forest Park and also is on staff at Mercy Medical Center, where he lectures to residents on anesthesia protocol. He currently is the only St. Louis area general dentist certified in deep sedation and general anesthesiology by the Missouri Dental Board.
