St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley will host a Career and Networking Fair from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Student Center Multipurpose Room. The campus is located at 3400 Pershall Road in Ferguson.
During this event, more than 50 employers will share information about full-time, part-time and internship positions. In addition to learning about employment opportunities, job seekers will have a chance to discover new career paths while expanding their professional networks.
“The Career and Networking Fair provides a wonderful opportunity for students, alumni and community members to meet with area employers and learn about jobs and internships,” said Antoinette Boyd, career development specialist, Career and Employment Services at STLCC-Florissant Valley.
“We look forward to building upon the success of last fall’s career fair, which enabled more than 135 job seekers to connect with employers,” she added. “Approximately 40 job seekers were offered a job at the fair.”
From engineering to banking, hospitality to health care, the fair features employers from a variety of industries including information technology, customer service, nonprofit management and more.
Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes, and to wear professional attire. However, not having the appropriate wardrobe shouldn’t discourage job seekers from attending the event. The fair also features a Suited for Success Professional Clothing Closet, which provides attire to assist job seekers who need a hand presenting their best selves during interviews and career fairs.
