As hard as it is to tell Bambi good-bye, your Disney VHS collection is just gathering dust. Here’s your chance to find yesterday’s treasures a new home.
Rent space to sell your items or shop a variety of vendors at the Child Development Laboratory Center Parent Advisory Council’s Back to School Yard Sale. The yard sale is Sept. 22, from 7 a.m.-noon at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley, in the CDLC parking lot. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Vendors can rent two parking spaces for $30 and a table for $10. Proceeds will benefit the CDLC. Pay in cash or make payments by check to CDLC PAC. Vendors must complete a contract and pay for space by Sept. 14. Contact CDLC at 314-513-4525 or firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
CDLC Director Renee Mayse said the annual event is about more than just shopping and food. “It’s a great way to bring the community together, so we can share our resources with them,” she said. “The CDLC always provides information about the center, the Child and Family Development program and the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grant.”
The CCAMPIS grant is available to St. Louis Community College students in need of child care monetary assistance who are either Pell-Grant eligible or recipients. Through the grant, children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old are eligible for services at any accredited and licensed child care facility and/or school district. CCAMPIS applications are currently being accepted for the fall 2018 semester. The deadline is Sept. 17.
