Short films, documentaries, music videos and other video projects created by students at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley were in the spotlight during the Filmmakers’ Showcase held on campus May 4.

The films’ directors, producers, videographers, editors and most actors were enrolled in one or more of the following spring 2018 classes: Acting for the Camera, Video Field Production or Filmmaking.

Renee Thomas-Woods, associate professor of communication and mass communications, is proud of the students’ hard work.

“Our media learning labs provide students with excellent experience and exposure to real-world media settings,” she said. “We are proud of the work they produce in film, television, radio, digital and print.”

She added: “Our students do a phenomenal job of putting their creativity, personality and life experiences into narrative forms captured through images on film.”
