Peterson Photography Lecture Series presents “Seven Billion Stories” with Lance Thurman, Oct. 9

Lance Omar Thurman, an international professional photographer and visual storyteller, has captured memories, moments and experiences through the lens of a camera for more than 19 years.

“Seven Billion Stories – A Photographer’s Coming of Age Through Travel and Pictures” is sure to be a compelling, visually stunning and interesting conversation with Thurman at the sixth annual Peterson Photography Lecture Series at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. Boys with soccer ball in Cuba

The lecture series – sponsored by Kristen Peterson, a retired photographer and long-time STLCC student at the Center for Visual Technology – was developed to expose students, faculty and the community to the work of local photographers of distinction, and to “encourage and inspire students to pursue and complete a degree at STLCC.”

The series also serves to showcase the array of creative photography in the St. Louis area, and provide professional and networking opportunities for students who are enrolled in the Center for Visual Technology at STLCC-Meramec.

Thurman, who is based in St. Louis, attended classes at STLCC.

During his career, Thurman has gained experience in every aspect of professional photography and has earned a reputation for capturing visual stories.

The Peterson Photography Lecture Series is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to attend.
