The Montage, the student newspaper at St. Louis Community College-Meramec, was recently recognized as the Best Overall Two-Year College Newspaper at the Missouri College Media Association’s annual convention and awards ceremony.
In addition to the first-place award as the Best Overall Newspaper in the two-year college division, the Montage also captured first place for its website, first place for its Editorial Section, and second place for its Back-to-School Magazine. Staff and individuals also claimed 22 more awards.
The Montage staff competed against several other two-year school newspapers from across the state, including newspapers from the STLCC-Forest Park and the STLCC-Florissant Valley campuses. Entries in the competition were judged for general excellence by members of the Missouri Press Association.

In addition to this year’s recognition, the Montage has been named the MCMA Best Overall Newspaper in the two-year school division 10 times. It also has captured the Sweepstakes Award 12 times.
The Montage has consistently won awards for excellence in student journalism at the state and national levels. Recent awards include a Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists and a Pacemaker Award from the Associated Collegiate Press.
