St. Louis Community College has named Deborah Barron as the associate vice chancellor for human resources. She joined the College on Dec.1.
Barron has more than 30 years of experience in human resources. She will oversee all districtwide human resources functions, including employee recruitment and retention, benefits and compensation, retirement, labor and employee relations and organizational development.
Prior to joining STLCC, Barron served as vice president of human resources for the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. Before this, she held various managerial roles in human resources at BJC Healthcare. She served as an adjunct faculty member at Fontbonne University.
“Deborah comes to STLCC with extensive knowledge and expertise in human resources,” said Chancellor Jeff L. Pittman, Ph.D. “We’re excited to welcome her, and we look forward to having her take the lead with this department.”
“I’m excited to serve St. Louis Community College and to represent the Human Resources department,” said Barron. “I look forward to contributing to the continued success of the College.”
Barron has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and human resources from Missouri State University and a master’s degree in counseling services from Webster University.
The role of associate vice chancellor for human resources was open due to a retirement; the position had been vacant since June 2017.
