Beginning this fall, high school students can enroll in any St. Louis Community College course at half the cost of the college’s regular tuition. The Board of Trustees unanimously approved the change to policy H.20 at its meeting on May 18.
While STLCC already offers a reduced rate for students who take dual credit courses at their high school, this action enables high school students to benefit from a reduced tuition rate when they take dual enrollment courses through STLCC.
“We know that students who take college courses in high school are more likely to pursue a college degree,” said Chancellor Jeff L. Pittman, Ph.D. “The College’s decision to reduce the tuition rate for high school students is an important step toward making higher education more affordable for families across the St. Louis region.”
The 2017-18 tuition fee for in-district dual enrollment high school students is $46.50 per credit hour, plus applicable fees. This tuition benefit is available to any public, private or homeschool student who meets the qualifications for dual enrollment.
