Anthony Cruz has been named St. Louis Community College’s vice chancellor of student affairs.
Cruz’s appointment follows a national search to fill the opening. He most recently served as vice president of enrollment management and student affairs at Sinclair Community College in Dayton.
Prior to joining Sinclair Community College, Cruz held leadership roles at several community colleges and universities, including Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Broward College, Kaplan University and Florida International University.
At STLCC, Cruz will provide visionary and strategic leadership to multiple campuses and teaching sites throughout the district. He will engage in a vital partnership with academic affairs to shape an exceptional student experience that demonstrates high levels of student engagement, learning and success. Cruz also will be responsible for institutional planning and policy development.
A native of Chicago, Cruz grew up in Miami. Fla. He holds a doctorate in education from Florida International University. His master’s degree in public administration is from Florida State University; his bachelor’s degree in political science is from Florida International University.
